History of Cross Keys House
- Cross Keys House is a former hotel situated in the commercial centre of Crowle, a small historic market town whose townscape dates back to the medieval period. The building has 18th century origins although the current structure dates from 1832. Cross Keys House is Grade II listed and located on the north side of the town’s pleasant market place within a conservation area. There is two hours free parking on the adjacent Market Place, which is ideal for clients and a couple of minutes walk away there is a long stay car park where you can park all day for free.
Location
- The eastern boundary of Cross Keys House lies adjacent to the A161, the major north-south route across the Isle of Axholme. Crowle lies only 2 miles from junction 2 of the MI80 which provides quick and easy access to many large local towns, and also the major motorway network (via the M18).

- Cross Keys House is a social enterprise – defined by the cabinet office as “businesses with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners.”
- Cross Keys Business centre was set up to fulfil a local need for office space. Its aim is to provide good quality office space for individuals or businesses on an ‘all-inclusive’ basis. The space is available to rent on either a long or short term basis with no lengtly tie-ins.
